Happy Birthday Issey Miyake: All the Vogues

Issey Miyake was born April 22, 1938. His patterns for Vogue, particularily the 1980's, are ageless.

I keep this file of these pages on my desktop.

The Mask Post

I am not an authority on this topic.

I like this one. It fits me. My family wears it. Your results will vary.

I extended the side bit to make it fit better and ease the channel making process.

Spouse here modeling the original

He is not capable of wearing this properly on his nose. At least in this photo he has it over his nose.

A long shoe lace goes around your neck, up through the channels and back behind your head. You can tie it or use a cord lock.

Longer side bit, zigzagged to prevent unraveling, make inserting lace easier

The shorter inside piece, the longer outside piece

I put fat fleece below the nose wire, to improve the fit and prevent unduly glasses fogging. It mostly works.

My favorite. I gave it to my son. NICE MOM.

This went to the other son.

It's funny seeing my family and neighbors wearing masks that match my summer dress wardrobe. Hopefully this situation won't go that far into summer where we can match on the same day, but I won't be surprised if we do for some time to come.
Perhaps it will be the new style?
This one did not fit

Love them little bathing beauties!

Isabel and Ruben Toledo on line

This gives you a good view of their studio.
Just a good dive into process
There's a lot more. I love listening to them talk over each other.
She would have turned 60 this week. She is missed.

A wealth more information is available on Pattern Vault, search on Isabel Toledo.
