I am clearly losing my touch if I missed this last week.
To my credit, I am watching this show on a teeny laptop in my basement
(which has been a balm and a blessing during our heat wave)
not in the promo art
So we gotta take this one apart because I WANNNNNNNTTTTTT
I am trying to find photos of the back of this shirt. Pretty sure I am going to have to make my own screen grabs of this.
But I did find this, which proves how AMAZING the costuming is on this show

Also pretty sure after an hour of sketching that I am going to have to drape this to see how to make that one seamless piece and which way the bias is running on it to get it to drape that nicely. That's a woven shirting fabric.
This post will be continued. Any ideas or suggestions, lemme know in the comments. If you know anyone with any intelligence on this shirt PLEASE pass my query along.
While not a more helpful photo, this clip of the shirt in action was fun! https://64.media.tumblr.com/37b6832233dc0ce11276fed9e757063c/5a6f688508e5a34e-97/s540x810/6503cdda44897a9051dbf255fa165b3093f9288a.gifv
ReplyDeleteThis reminds of a Burda magazine jacket I sort of attempted awhile back: #119-08/2009: https://www.burdastyle.de/produkt/magazin-schnitt/taillierte-jacke-08-2009-119_119-082009-DL. There was a sort of epaulette that wrapped over the collar, so it wasn't nearly as complicated as it looked.
ReplyDeleteI have been informed, this collar is featured in Pattern magic #2, page 27.
DeleteYES! That collar has been distracting me the whole time I've been watching (in a good way). I want to know how it was made/sewed and weather it's bulky and difficult to recreate.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how your copy comes out!
